Chelsea’s new signing Michy Batshuayi lamborghini gets towed by Spanish police
Chelsea’s new signing Michy Batshuayi has been fined by Spanish police after seeing his £180,000 Lamborghini towed away.
Batshuayi is on holiday in Ibiza before returning for pre-season with Chelsea later this month.
He left his car parked under a tree, to keep it in the shade, it was removed and the striker was slapped with a £330 fine.
Officers got a tow-truck to take the vehicle away from a park in Ibiza town around midday on Monday as locals looked on in amazement.
Local paper Periodico de Ibiza said the 22-year-old footballer recovered his flame-coloured Lamborghini Huracan after turning up at a council-run car pound on Monday afternoon and paying £330 to cover the fine and cost of the tow-truck.
A specialist crane ended up having to do the job because the car, which has a top speed of 202mph and can do 0-62mph in 3.2 seconds, wouldn’t fit on the normal tow-truck.
A town hall source told local press the car had been rented and the contract was in Michy’s brother’s name.
